Abstract: Dynamic changes in the modern labor market place new demands on agricultural workers. In modern conditions, there is a need for specialists who are ready to constantly improve their professional competencies. However, many agricultural enterprises do not always effectively cope with the problems that arise in the process of improving the skills of employees. All this has led to the need to apply a unified state personnel policy in the agro-industrial complex. The main goal of the presented research is to study and analyze the effectiveness of the existing state personnel policy in agriculture, which is a central element in the structure of the agro-industrial complex. The information base is regulatory documents in the field of labor market regulation, as well as economic, statistical and analytical materials of the Federal State Statistics Service of the Russian Federation. In the process of research, the need to adjust the state’s personnel policy in the agricultural sector was substantiated, taking into account the existing and future personnel potential with the necessary set of competencies.
