Abstract: A scientific study of the strategic potential of the fish market in Russia and abroad was conducted using the SWOT analysis methodology, while quantifying factors: strength, weakness, opportunity and threat. Based on the hypothesis put forward, the analysis of the competitive advantages and disadvantages of producers in geographically separated fish markets was carried out. Evidence has been obtained for the assumption that it is necessary to use innovative strategies for the development of agricultural enterprises in order to ensure food security of the Russian economy. The impact of sanctions has been clarified. Graphs and diagrams are constructed describing the importance and importance of competitive factors in choosing a strategy for the development of the fishing industry. Ratings of competitive factors affecting the fish market have been obtained. The changes in commodity flows and the organization of logistics of fish products in foreign trade interactions with friendly countries are statistically justified. The best practices for the development of relevant areas are formulated and economic tools for implementing strategies in fish markets are proposed.
