Abstract: Agricultural enterprises, like the entire agricultural sector of the country, are not without the influence of negative factors and risks that affect all areas of activity: from production issues to logistics and product processing. For more than a year, the authorities have been taking measures to reduce the impact of such risks and threats within the framework of state agrarian policy through the implementation of national projects and programs for the development of agriculture. However, it is quite difficult to assess the level and effectiveness of the measures and tools being taken. The reasons may be the specific features of agricultural production, as well as the rapidly changing conditions of agribusiness, as well as the trade and economic climate in the agri-food market. The purpose of the study is to propose methodological provisions for assessing the methods and tools of the risk management system used in practice for the development of the agro-sector within the framework of state agrarian policy in the context of the functioning of the agricultural production structure in modern economic conditions. The research was based on the application of a systematic approach, the main research methods were abstract-logical, monographic, morphological, institutional analysis and synthesis. The results of the conducted research allowed us to propose methodological provisions for assessing the level of risk management for the development of the agricultural structure of the Russian Federation, including a number of stages. Initially, it is necessary to determine the choice of the purpose and object of the assessment, which will indicate the range of tasks to be solved. Next, a system of evaluation criteria and indicators is defined, optimal assessment methods are selected, as well as the necessary information, statistical data and analysis of available information are collected to form conclusions about the results and effectiveness of the applied risk management methods. At the same time, it is necessary to take into account the influence of internal and external factors of the development of the object under study, which can determine the choice of evaluation criteria and methods when adjusting and changing the objectives of the assessment.
