Abstract: The purpose of the study is to analyze the current state of employment in agriculture from the perspective of forming its new model, which assumes a new structure, forms of employment, new professions, values, digital profiles, and new skills. The object of the research is the employment system in agriculture. Research methods: content analysis, logical and statistical methods, comparative analysis, systematic approach. The authors consider the processes of formation of a new employment model as a complex phenomenon, encompassing not only the emergence and development of new digital professions in rural areas, the growing role of youth in the agricultural workforce, the need to improve the digital literacy of workers in the agricultural sector, but also the development of new forms of employment in the agro-industrial complex of Russian regions. Special emphasis is placed on assessing the demand for skills by those employed in rural areas. A critical analysis of existing approaches to the analysis of processes in the field of employment in agriculture is presented, taking into account international research experience, methodological approaches to assessing its transformation are summarized, and relevant statistical data are analyzed. The authors analyze various aspects of the impact of digital transformation on rural employment, consistently substantiate the need for the formation of modern institutions for the development of new forms of employment in rural areas, corresponding to the new employment model, actively developing in the context of technological transformations. The results of the study can be useful for the development of regional strategies for the development of employment in agriculture.
