Abstract: The article is devoted to the study of a number of issues related to online food retail in the regions of the Russian-Belarusian borderlands. The relevance of the topic is due to the growing demand for online food delivery and prepared meals. The purpose of this study is to describe the trends and prospects for the development of online food retail in the Russian-Belarusian borderlands in the context of the integration of the two countries. To achieve this goal, the following methods were used: statistical observation through population surveys, analysis of statistical indicators, and correlation analysis. The study resulted in the following conclusions. Online food shopping is quite popular in the border region, along with online shopping for clothing and electronics, especially in Russian regions. All online food purchases can be divided into several groups based on their location: marketplaces, online grocery stores, online cafes and fast-food restaurants, and restaurants. Based on an analysis of publications by Russian and Belarusian authors on the topic, the main problems of online food sales in the Russian-Belarusian border regions have been identified: a lack of pick-up points, especially in rural areas, poor logistics that can lead to food spoilage, inadequate legislation, and a higher volume of sales by Russian marketplaces in Belarus compared to their own platforms. A moderate correlation has been identified between age and the frequency of various purchases made via the Internet: the older a person is, the less likely they are to use this method of purchasing goods. Promising areas for the development of online food retail include the implementation of organizational and legal measures to protect the rights of buyers and sellers, and to expand the opportunities for all stakeholders in the Union State in this industry.
