Abstract: Due to the specific features of agriculture associated with living organisms, the need to take into account climatic, geographical and natural conditions that impose risks and vulnerabilities, it is problematic to make timely adjustments that eliminate weak links in the production processes of the industry. It is hardly feasible to get rid of all the problems of the industry, but it is possible to reduce the negative aspects thanks to digital technologies. In this article, the object of research is agriculture of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic. The dynamics of agricultural production in the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic tends to grow, but the increase in production is carried out mainly in extensive ways. The industry is experiencing low demand for progressive technologies, including digital ones. Only the transition to an intensive path of development through the digital transformation of all agriculture will allow the republic to increase the pace of agricultural production. CBD has an agricultural specialization, the well-being of the population and the economy as a whole depends on the state of agriculture. The use of digital technologies will make it possible to neutralize the risks characteristic of the industry, increase production volumes, and obtain benign raw materials, which, in turn, will help improve product quality and competitiveness, reduce production costs, increase food volumes, and contribute to import substitution.
